There’s a lot of random thoughts bouncing around inside “The Scrambler” and I’ll try and get a few out in this new category called “Across The Bow”. I don’t promise them to be inspiring or profound, just a glimpse of what’s going on with the nut behind the wheel of Mariola.
Here’s one that hit me this morning while stirring my coffee:
I think think the main reason the movie WaterWorld is such a hit with us sailory types, is that secretly, we’re all kind of hoping the world will flood. Then we’ll get to sail smugly around all the landlubber “atoll” dwellers shouting ”Shoulda bought a sailboat!”

You mean somebody else liked Waterworld? I thought I was about the only one…..
LOL – most sailors can fit a quote from the movie to any situation on the water. Half an hour, half an hour….
If you can’t recite every line from Waterworld you are not a true sailor! Two drifters meet. Something needs to be exchanged.
I want the hot trimaran and gills of course(I wonder where the tri went). Of course we all know that the little girl went on to a great career in epic films like Napoleon Dynamite while Costner got new hair and Hopper became the spokesperson for Sprint whom we all love for their tireless Pakistani customer service:). The world can flood now, I’ll get the boat ready and meet you guys in between Pakistan, India and China(that should be a culturally rich zone….like a bed of mad fire ants with nowhere to go).
Bonafide – LMAO. I thought my head had some thoughts rattlin’ around in it – you’re hilarious.
If you google “waterworld trimaran” or similar, some people think they found it on google earth somewhere in Orlando – I think that was it. I found some info about it awhile ago.
Rumhead,
I am going to have to break down and watch that movie. I was hoping that seeing the stunt spectacular would be enough, obviously not.
Ross, I’ll have to watch it with you for your first time!
