Propane Powered Weedwacker – How About An Outboard?

by RumHead on April 20, 2009

I wonder how propane would work for a 2 hp dinghy outboard? It says the trimmer will run for two hours. Hopefully some company has a propane powered outboard motor in the works – or maybe just JB Weld a prop to this wacker…

JB Weld may hold the prop on long enough to get it to the water, but the bond would not hold when you tried to use it. Would it not be better to simply BOLT the prop on right where the trimmer head is? I mean it would bolt right on, no “JB Weld” BS would be required. JB Weld, what a joke, but I have to accept that not every guy is qualified to build/repair/fabricate, etc. Thanks for the laugh though!

Seriously, you CAN bolt a small prop to a weed whacker. Just take the trimmer head off (unscrew it, don’t bash it off with a hammer or anything ignorant) and bolt the prop on. Stay away from the JB Weld.

Youd' better have a clutched weedeater or it'll stalll when you try to put it in the water…

if jb weld won`t hold it on i suggest duct tape.
if you really have deep pockets get the metal tape.
if it can seel my leaking brake lines on my car it can hold a propeller on
a weedwhacker

I have a feeling this will turn into a real project.
